CJPS Students Win Great Goose Award
Each year first year students and their leaders from each faculty take part in Orientation Week. A number of activities are planned that each team/faculty need to complete, including the Wild Goose Chase. The winning faculty of this event gets to house a proud statue of a goose, named Stanley, for the year. The faculty will also have a name plate added to the statue, along with the year won. The goose was chosen since geese demonstrate leadership and teamwork when they fly in their "V" formation.
Our first year students, along with their leaders, were the only faculty to complete the Wild Goose Chase; they were detailed and organized by dividing the group up according to strengths; and they demonstrated camaraderie, spirit and support for one another.
President Ronald Bordessa presented the award on September 9 at the Polonsky Commons. The official presenting of "Stanley," with his freshly engraved plaque, took place on October 1st at a reception in the Business & IT Building Mezzanine. Dr. Nawal Ammar, Dean of the Faculty of Criminology, Justice and Policy Studies accepted the Great Goose Award from members of the Student Life office.
